The credit bureaus can be contacted in regards of opting-out of receiving pre-approved credit card offers for two years.
Call 1-888-5-OPTOUT (567-8688) to get more information. You will be asked for personal information to process your request.
You may choose to notify these major credit bureaus that you do not want them to share your personal information for
promotional purposes. Write them a letter at the addresses provided below. This will help to eliminate a great portion
of unsolicited mail that clogs up your mailbox.

Telemarketing
Created The Federal Government the National Do Not Call Registry is the free, easy way to reduce the telemarketing calls at your home.
For more information visit www.donotcall.gov, or call 1-888-382-1222 from the phone you want to register. In just three months you will notice
the difference in number of telemarketing calls you receive. The rigistration has to be renewed every 5 years.
Mail
The Direct Marketing Association’s (DMA) Mail Preference Service lets you "opt-out" of receiving direct mail marketing from
many national companies that are registered with DMA for five years. Your name will be put on a “delete” file and
made available to direct-mail marketers. You may still receive mail form organizations/companies that are not registered with DMA.

The DMA also has an EMail Preference Service to help you reduce unsolicited commercial emails. To “opt-out” of receiving
unsolicited commercial email, use DMA’s online form at www.dmaconsumers.org/offemaillist.html. Your online request will be
effective for one year.
