First National, just like any other bank, has a set of pre-requisites for applicants who are qualified to get their cards. They apply these pre-requisites to filter out from the lists of profiles, provided by the credit bureaus, people who categorically are not eligible for a card by www.firstantional.com/apply. After the credit unworthy candidates were removed from the list, the remainder will receive a letter invitng them to apply for the offer. This helps the bank to save the cost of processing applications. However, the selection process is so vague that some of the people, who will eventually be rejected by the bank, will still receive the applications. Therefore the invitation letter does not guarantee that a pre-approved applicant will get his card if he applies at firstnational.com/apply.
