AMERICAN EXPRESS CREDIT CARDS

American Express credit cards are offshoots of the American Express premier custom banking products. American Express is a niche product, with colors that are used to market the charge and credit business types. American Express wants to target demographic markets, and it does so efficiently.
 
American Express cards today are really just charge cards, for bulk services and merchandise that must be paid off monthly or American Express will charge a finance fee and stiff penalty. American Express services may possibly halt services depending on income, credit ratings, and payment history.

In 1958, the American Express card was launched with an annual fee of $6. American Express discovered that conspicuous spending had its privileges.
American Express launched the Gold Card, the Platinum Card, even American Express Optima cards, for charge on purchases, but it became discontinued.

The heaviest hitter in the American Express card portfolio is the Centurion, or "black” American Express card. The American Express Black Card charges a $2,500 annual fee.

American Express launched the Blue card among young adults and American Express UK issues an American Express Red Card. There is even an American Express wedding site card amongst many more to come.

American Express cards range between no annual fee (for American Express Clear, the American Express One Card, the American Express Blue card)  and select AMEX cards with annual fees as mentioned above, however, the  American Express One for savings account deposits in your name whenever you make purchases.

Of course, there is no reason American Express card account holders can’t achieve the same financial planning using other cards and financials services.
