U R @: Learning Center : Credit Card Details : Shell Gas Card

SHELL GAS CARD

Many of us may ask: “Is it possible to save 41c/gallon with the Shell Gas card?” And the answer will be – “Yes, it is”. There have been many deals from the Shell Gas Card, and the most current and recent is the opportunity to earn triple rebates on all purchases. With this promotional offer Citi Bank hopes to increase the amount of new credit accounts. Under this incentive, every new Shell Gas Card holder will get the eligibility to earn triple rebates on all purchases, but for only sixty days. Besides a 15% rebate on all Shell Gasoline, this card will also give one a chance to receive 15% rebates on the first 100 dollars on Jiffy Lube purchases, and 1% to 3% rebates on general merchandise purchases.

The downside of the Shell Gas Card offer

This great offer will last for only sixty days since the moment one receives the card. After the introduction period one will have a credit card that may not be the best choice for him or her if the gas rebate incentive was not there at first place. The high APR and other details of the offer have to be considered before applying for the Shell Gas Credit Card.

The owner of the card will be eligible for gas rebate only if he or she purchases the gas from one of the Shell gas stations. Which in many cases will be priced a little bit higher than at other gas stations. That may make the final savings not as great as it sounds.

All rebates on the card are not cash back, they are for future purchases on Shell Gasoline, so its more of a 'free future fuel' deal. There are no annual fees for the first year, but after the first year, you must make at least nine Shell Gasoline purchases in order to waive the fee.

As with all credit cards, it is important to pay your balance on time, but with the Shell Gas Card, it is important to pay your balance in full every month. Any delinquencies can shift your APR to the default APR. However, the most popular Gas card in the market is still the Discover Gas Card and the Discover Platinum Gas Card.

Alternatives to the Shell Gas Card

Among the gas credit cards one may find a lot of other great offers, which, comparing to the Shell Gas Card may turn out to be a better choice for saving money on gas. Such cards are The Discover Gas Card, BP Visa Rewards Card, Blue Cash From American Express, and many more. (To see complete list of gas cash back cards click here.) The advantage of using these offers will be a better interest rate, the greater choice of participating places, the cash back option rather than rebate toward future purchases, etc. To learn more about alternative offers visit the page for gas cash back credit cards at CardFusion.com.

No matter what card one may chose to apply for, whether it is the Shell Gas Card or any of the alternatives, he or she needs to study the details of the offer and remember to pay their balance on time.
